we cooked dinner last weekend.
went to the market near our house in the morning to get ingredients for dinner. the 'wet' market was better than we all expected. much cleaner than some of the existing markets in sg. no worries about dirty, fishy water getting onto your shoes and jeans.

Friday night - bah kut teh, broccoli and carrots with oyster sauce, scrambled eggs
Sunday night - abc soup (potato, carrots, tomato, corn, onion, pork ribs), fried rice
the food was delicious and tasted like home, 有妈妈的味道 :) it was much much better than eating oily, salty, unhealthy food outside.
Saturday:
the crowd in the metro station during the weekend is neverending. i dont know if you can tell in the photo below. perhaps u can see how fast the people were walking.
the 人民广场 interchange:

L to R - Peiyi (my roomie), yekai, peter, junqin, charlene:

we explored 徐佳汇 (xu jia hui). its a shopping area in 浦西 (puxi). it felt so much like some other major city that we kinda forgot that we were in shanghai for a while.
the steel ball in the photo reminds me of 科技管.

the guys spotted this statue in the middle of no where in the square and the mimicking act starts.

i love the dry weather here. you can just leave a box of chips, biscuits, whatever in the open and it still tastes fresh. no ants, no houseflies...

but dryness is showing on my skin. it becomes kinda white and flaky outdoors. body butter is not helping much. lucky my face looks resistant to the dry enviroment.
