after a boring week in the office, it was time to party after work on friday.
we went to 'windows' that night to chill out after dinner till late. cover charge of 50 rmb which includes a drink. the drinks are cheap in terms of sing dollars, a jug of beer costs only S$5.


Charlene, Geraldine and I made our way down to 南京西路 (west nanjing road) on saturday afernoon. we intended to shop at that area and just when our day became boring, we discovered a food street by accident! that was our happiest moment of the day im sure. very cheap and very delicious food!

the street is PACKED when we first reached there. everyone's pushing around, it felt like the peak hour MRT ride. but we dont care, we just went ahead to fill our stomachs though its still too early for dinner at 5pm.


we ate ALOT and lots of different food. we were trying out almost every new food we came across along the street.

the food list (according to the collage):
1) grilled oysters topped with garlic, ginger, chilli sauce - they were massive, larger than those raw oysters we eat in restaurants.
2) 章鱼小丸子 (takoyaki) - 3.50 rmb (S$0.70) for 6 balls, cheap! they were topped with seaweed, mayo and some jap sauce
3) 臭豆腐 (fermented, stinky beancurd) - not bad, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. we bought it cos there was a long long queue at the store so we thought it must be good that's why so many people are queueing for it. but the store at the bund was better than this, much more 'stinky'.
4) grilled chicken wings - deelicious and juicy. 10rmb (S$2) for 8!
5) 臭豆腐 stall
6) chocolate fountain - fruits coated with melted choc. i didnt expect to see it there cos it doesnt seem like a cheena food.
7, 8) 麻花糕 - its like hot red bean icecream. i looovee this, my favourite 红豆 (redbean)!!
9, 10) 煎包 - pan fried buns. 3rmb (S$0.60) for 4. its the combination of 锅贴 and 小笼包 (panfried dumplings and steamed soup buns), very tasty. a bite on the crispy skin and it will send all the juice oozing out..mmMmMmmMm....that's our favourite. we will definately eat this when we are there the next time.

went to have a hair cut this afternoon and it was a lesson learnt. i'll blog bout it next time
