happy chinese new year people! im back from holiday getaway in Xi an. leave the trip aside and i shall talk bout new year's eve.

new year here is much much better with fireworks and firecrackers here. but spending the reunion dinner away from your family kinda seems weird. but the company we had here was great that for a moment i forgot im away from home. 25 of us went to the level 4 people's new home. they shifted out of our current place due to some problems. we had potluck for reunion dinner, something different from the usual steamboat, and had tangyuan and dumplings for supper.

the large box in the collage is the fireworks, definately we didnt buy that. it was some other people's rubbish, its all burnt. that was my first time i knew they come in this form. i always thought it was massive and not very portable. fireworks and crackers are not very cheap here in terms of rmb. that big box costs around 1000rmb. ex right! but of course the more you pay, nicer the display. we bought around 500rmb worth of fireworks and crackers.

we can dont spend so much on those cos fireworks are everywhere that night especially at midnight. its like war, the sound of explosions everywhere, almost non stop. you can see fireworks bursting right outside your window, and we all got so high when we saw that. hahaha..

the china government dont have to spend so much on fireworks display like singapore. the people buy that themselves and its all night long. save gov's money.

that pathetic small box on top of the large one is ours. that's 300 rmb already. but it was still beautiful. the joy of lighting it and see it bursting right on top of you was priceless.

the group photos:

this was kinda 'scary' to take this photo. cos that thing was burning right in front of everyone, so close that the sparks could hit us.

once again 新年快乐!

here's a little preview of xi an..i love this photo!
