this is about my haircut experience last sunday as promised.

charlene, tiong and i decided to check out the salon near our house since it was so crowded when we passed by it the previous time. wash+cut+blow = 18. its only S$3+!! so we decided to get our hair cut and trimmed.

we were surprised by the hardsell. its something like when you go to facial, the lady would try to persuade you to buy their packages or upgrade you facial treatment or add this add that to improve your complexion..blah blah..
yes, that happened in a hair salon.

the wash was good at first, comfortable massage and service. i told my stylist what kinda hairstyle i want to cut while getting my hair washed.
he came back later and told me that im not suitable for short hair, i should perm to give it more volume unlike the thin, flat hair i have now. i didnt even consider that option and i said no, just go ahead and cut my hair. from then on, he kept selling the perm to me, psycho me to do some changes to my hair.
he pointed over to tiong's seat and said, "see, your friend did something new to his hair, you should do it too." i looked over and omg... HE PERMED HIS HAIR! tiong said he was told that it will make his hair look more spiky or whatever..
i still stayed with what i want to do - cut my hair only and cut it short. he started the selling story again and finally he gave up. my stubborn-ness won the little battle.

then he started snipping away, (the conversation was in chinese)
Hair guy: im not cutting your hair, just snipping away the split ends. your hair texture dont suit short hair.
Belle: what??
H: your ends are very dry, our store can help you do a treatment for dry hair and its very good, just spray on the lotion, it can be easily absorbed and it can last you for a few months.
(hairguy went to take the lotion and showed it to me, its loreal and everything's in english, except for a little sticker that translates into chinese)
H: this is very good for hydrating. you can read and see for yourself if u want to do it
(he think i dont know english ar.. what's written on the box: colour power dose. i read everything on the box and there's nothing written on it that's for dry hair)
B: this is a after-dye process to make the colour last. i never dye my hair, use this for what? just cut my hair
......

the debate went on and he still insisted on trimming my hair only. argghhh...customer ask you to cut then you cut la! so stubborn for what.
FINE, i was tired of arguing and i just sat there and let him do his thing. grrrr.....
