didnt blog the past week. cos i was kinda busy with work and school. lessons at fudan uni started this week. Xi An Day 1 (19Feb07) we took a 16 hour train ride all the way from shanghai to xi an. it was madness. i doubt i will take long hour train rides again. our tickets were the 'hard bed' section kind. so 6 beds in a cabin and the cabin is open, no doors, so anyone who walk pass the corridor can see u. i dont really like that, but kinda got used to it in a while, cos everyone was minding their own business. i think most china people sleep and wake up very early. their lights-off timing is at 9.50pm, which is a time where we think that almost all singaporeans are still awake at that time. at 5-6 am, you will start hearing noises of people waking up, going to the toilet whatever. and by 7, almost all the china people are awake and the speakers starts to play music which is something like a morning call. they are early birds. the 6 of us travelled with a tour group of around 32. that was quite a large group. 1st stop was the terra cotta soldiers, the infamous qin shi huang tomb, the '8th wonder of the world'. it was a breathtaking sight when i first stepped into pit no. 1 - the first photo in the collage. its the largest pit that was discovered, around the size of 4 or 5 football fields. ![]() next we went to the hot springs of the emperors and concubines. nothing much fantastic there. its just the little history knowledge that we get and the beautiful scenery from the pagodas on the little hills. ![]() ![]() some group photos.. ![]() i want to continue with day 2 but im so sleepy now, its 3am.
