my uncle came to shanghai last week for work. he managed to have some time last night and we met up for dinner at a steak house, cos i said i was craving for western food. it was chinese food all the time since i came, the dinner was extremely satisfying.

there was a long queue outside the restaurant when we got there. didnt expect it to be so popular. we waited for around 20 mins for our table. the food was cheap! 98rmb (approx S$20) per person for a 8 course dinner - bread, 2 starters, soup, sherbert, main course, desert, drink. it was value for money, the food was not bad for that price.

from top left to right then bottom: fresh prawns with asparagus, fruit salad, some baked salty pudding, creamy clam soup.

our steaks. the fillet was good and the portion was large. his request for medium rare was just nice.
that's my pumpkin pudding and his cranberry fruit jelly
our drinks, hot and cold coffee. the cold coffee i ordered was kinda different from what i expected. it came in that round pitcher with dry ice at the bottom. the milk with froth at the top was seperated from the little glass of black coffee which im supposed to mix into the milk myself.

it feels so good when a relative or a family member comes over for a visit :)

here are a couple of photos i took of the quite rundown places in shanghai. it was some kinda like a wreck, felt like we went back 20, 30 years in time.
