Xi an Day 2 (20Feb) our programme the next day was to 华山 (huashan), a mountain not in xi an itself, we had to take a 2 hour bus ride from the city centre to the mountains. the tour bus dropped us off at the huashan tourist centre and we took the centre's bus to take the cable car to halfway up the mountain. the cable car ride itself was 110rmb (S$22), izit ex? if you choose to save the money, you can hike your way up. the view was breathtaking on our way up the mountain. ![]() the same announcement kept going on when we were on the mountain - 走路不看景,看景不走路. which means dont look at the scenery while walking, vice versa. yes, its dangerous to walk while looking at the scenery, and its quite difficult to do that too. cos the steps are irregular and there are no sturdy railings at the side to fall on, only a thick shaky chain to hold on. check out the padlocks in the collage. its like their lucky charm. they engrave the names of their loved ones, lock it high up in the mountain and believe that it will peace and prosperity will knock on their door. i dont know how true is that. ![]() climbing the mountain is no easy task. dont know if u can see the super long flight of stairs in the picture. i almost died when i was on it. ![]() Day 3 (21Feb) the programme on that day wasnt very interesting. we went to a temple with a pagoda, n some tablet museum. our day was spoilt when our tour guide gave out our train tickets and realised that everyone's seperated and we are not sleeping in the same 6 people cabin. the excuse was because of the chinese new year when everyone's travelling. ![]() ![]()
